What order is a networking setup with a pfsense PC router?

Corruption

My friend thinks it goes modem-router-pfsense PC. But I say its modem-pfsense pc-router.

I'm confused. Your PFSense PC should be your router. Assuming that's what you set it up for.

It might go Modem -> Switch -> PFSense PC, but having a second router would basically be pointless with a PFSense PC already there.

I meant that the second router will just be a switch and access point to put out WiFi and act as a switch. I just called it router since I didn't know what else to call jt

Modem --> Router --> everything else.

But the pfsense PC is the router, and the second "router" is just an access point for WiFi networks.

Then Modem --> PFSensePC --> Router --> Switch (Router and switch could be switched) --> everything else.

PFSense should be used to dial PPPoE through the modem, hence it's Modem > PFSense > WiFi/Router/Switch/Whatever > Clients

I've considered posting up a PFSense build I did recently for someone if your interested.
