So i have the Moto G (first gen, LTE version) and they said it would get the 5.0 update sometime "soon". That was like 4 months ago....

My friend has the same phone, but not the LTE version and his was unlocked, where as i bought my phone directly from Rodgers. Also we are both on the rodgers network.

But he got lollipop like 2 months ago......... Why is that?

and here i am still waiting...

It's your carrier that's fcking you in the ass xD ask them.

If not root it and install it yourself.

if i where you i would wait a little longer. my One M7 got the L update later then others.

i already rooted and flashed a GPE ROM on mine tough and the OTA opdate ruined my flash. so i had to reflash another custom ROM and manually reset my APN settings!

Even the unlocked Moto G's in Canada have not received Lollipop OTA yet. Nobody I know with one (1st or 2nd gen) has got it and I had to reflash my 2nd gen to a US model in order to get the OTA.

With one from Rogers it's going to take even longer.

All you can do right now to get it is to flash a custom ROM or do what I did and flash it to a US model in order to get the OTA.
