My old motherboard died which was a ASUS P5GCMX 945 CHIPSET

So i bought everything new except Hard disk and DVD RW drive

My Current Config.

  • Gigabyte H81M-S1 Motherboard 1150 socket.
  • Intel Core i3-4150 4th generation processor.
  • Corsair Vengeance 4GB DDR3 RAM.
  • Corsair VS450 W PSU.

I installed everything and test booted the system. It worked properly. Then i assembled everything into the case and connected my 1TB seagate ST31000524AS HDD and the DVDRW drive. And when I booted it said no bootable device found.

Then I Checked into BIOS and in the Perpherals menu all the 4 SATA ports were EMPTY. But whenever I boot the system the hard disk led thats on the case it blinks.. and Even DVD RW drive's LED blinks. But the DVD drive tray won't eject.

I chekced for the vibrations on HDD, there are no vibrations from the HDD. I checked all the power cables and data cables, tried with other new cables that came with motherboard. No luck.

I tried connecting the Hdd to other computer, there it showed the error that said "Connected device is not compatible. Please check CSM settings in BIOS."

Please if someone could help me with this.?

Make sure your power and sata cables are seating properly. If it works in neither system, I would say you have a dying/dead drive. EDIT: Try a different sata cable. I know sounds stupid but it is worth a shot.

I tried changing the cables also.No luck.

If it doesnt show up in the bootable drives section in the bios. Delete everything which is selected in that section in the bios and restart. After that you should be able to select it

Those ports are already empty..there's nothing to delete in the bios.
