Inverted audio channels. Help needed!

Go to solution Solved by Godlygamer23,

Remove the splitter and try it. Signals may be getting crossed.

I posted the same topic in the troubleshooting part of the forum but I guess nobody had any ideas. So I decided to give it a try again here since it's audio related.

So like a month ago I decided to put Windows 8 on my gaming rig. I installed all the drivers and everything, no problems whatsoever. One day, while I was playing Counter-Strike I noticed that my audio channels are actually inverted... The sound, which is supposed to come from the right side is coming from the left and the other way around. I immediately searched for a solution in google.com, but without any results. Tried to find an option to invert the channels in the Realtec audio software, but there was none. Bear in mind that I'm using the onboard audio on my ASUS Rampage IV Gene and I have connected a 3,5mm jack splitter at the back, because I have two audio devices connected at the same time - headset (Cyborg FREQ 5) and a 2.1 speaker setup. I was able to swap the position of my speakers so that the sound would come from the right direction, but that is not possible with the headset. If anyone has any ideas, please share.

PS: Audio hardware works fine on other PCs

So you've got the 4 pin audio jack hooked up to a splitter and into your onboard?  But the problem is the same with your speakers?

Try This:

Go into your sound properties and select your Realtek speaker out and hit the configure button, and test each channel.  Just to make sure it's not just the game.

I guess I figured it out with a bit of help from Godlygamer23. Turns out that the problem was not the splitter but the keyboards audio pass trough... I didn't expect such a thing to cause problems especially if you have a 300$ keyboard (Cyborg STRIKE 5). I guess I'll just have to RMA it.
