Hi,

My school Internet is so massively restricted to the point where I can't even watch YouTube or use Dropbox. I have setup my own home vpn with my asus 1900ac rebranded for tmobile customers. The problem is when I connect to the wifi it will drop the vpn by itself how would I get around this and hide the fact I am using a vpn.

Well I mean my school has Clash of Clans. OP is it a mobile VPN you want or a different kind of VPN?

So practically the settings in your school's network do not not allow the VPN to work. There is no way you can go around that, unless you will connect through a mobile modem. I guess is done that way to discourage distraction at school and save the bandwidth.

Best solution (what I did back in highschool):

 

SSH tunnel to one of my servers to an SSH daemon listening on port 443 (because then it looks like it's an HTTPS request). Then you can use a socks5 proxy to push all your data through the tunnel. As long as your server's IP isn't blocked on the firewall -- you're all good!

You're effectively tunneling all your traffic out through the server.. so probably.
