Hi there folks,

 

Currently I'm looking for a upgrade for my rig. Bellow you can find the specs.

Could anyone advice me what to do first. The budget is +- 400 EUR.

 

- Intel i7 3770k running at 3.9Ghz

- Asus Sabertooth z77

- 4 x 4GB Corsair Vengeance 1600Mhz

- nVidia GTX 680

- 128GB SSD Samsung Pro (main)

- 3TB WD HDD (data)

 

That's about it, this build is from feb. 2013.

I'm mainly focussing on recording, editting and rendering video's for games.

I'd look about online for benchmarks with certain setups to see if you don't get bottle necked with a new GPU then. Considering it still depends on the application that you use to render your clips/videos you can offload it to the gpu in most cases. However i'm not familiar with the processor enough to give you a valid answer on if it would bottleneck a 970 or 960. Then again if you got a new processor then you'd have a new processor but also still have a really old GPU. So i suppose it depends on your preference and what your wanting to do. Benchmarking results tend to help with decisions like this. If you cant find any setups with your 3770k and a 970 then look for setups close to your processor in performance with a 970 and also the same way around for your gpu and newer processors.
