I recently got a BSoD so I decided to reinstall windows as my old one had quite a bit of stuff.
During the installiation (after formatting) the installiation crashed and now whenever I try to install windows 7 I get this message:

'This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disks controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu.'

Here are my specs.

CPU: Intel i3 i3240 @3.4Ghz
GPU: GTX 650
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-H61M-S1
HDD: seagate barracuda 500gb st500dm002
RAM: Not exactly sure.... Kingston 4GB 798Mhz dual channel

The motherboard is a few days old, everything else in the system is about 1 year old

I did order a new HDD already but I really would like to fix this in the meantime :c
Also, I've tried Windows 8 aswell

Go into your BIOS and check its boot order just to verify that the correct device is the first boot option (hard drive most likely).

It is.

I don't see how it's relevant as I don't have an OS on my HDD currently.

Also, I've tried different SATA cables and I don't have any other drives except my USB which I'm using to install Windows.

If you can get to the Windows installation screen make sure that after you format, you delete the old partitions (THIS WILL ERASE THE DATA).

You might need to use another Windows based computer to format the drive instead of doing it through the Windows installation disk. The disk formatting feature within Windows can be accessed from the start menu and searching create and format hard disk partitions".

GL!!!

I dont have any partitions on the disk (used DISKPART to check)

Also, when installing Windows 8 I believe I had an error where it couldn't create a new partition or something.

When I try to create one with diskpart I get a CRC (Cyclic Redundancy Check) error

Boot orders do not affect an OS installation.
