ram config help

Go to solution Solved by ZephyrNET,

Put them in the same color.

got a new board since my old 1 just wasnt cutting it any more and i needed the extra features and it has 2x duel chanel from what i can gather from what the specs of it says, 2 gray 2 black and it says its duel chanel so yea, any way i have 2 completely different ram sticks

ripjawsX 1600 8gb *the red fancy-ish looking 1*
crucial 1600 4gb

would i be better of putting 1 stick into gray and 1 into black or both into the same color

You're saying he should buy different ram sticks for more performance, the speed does nothing unless he has an apu.

The 2400MHz ram is just as cheap as the lower speed sticks. There isn't much of a reason unless you don't like the color but even then, you can easily spray the spreaders to the color you want.

If its not more than 5-10$ more expensive, then I agree, he should go for it.

G.Skill TridentX 2400MHz CL10 was only about $69 when I bought it. Just came today actually, I'll probably just paint it blue because it sticks out like a sore thumb.
