So, today my Edifier M1360 2.1 set decided to die. only sub is working now. But since I was already looking for some decent monitors what would you guys recommend? I listen lots of High quality music (Tidal highest quality subscription), watch movies and play a lot of games. space is also a bit of an issue as you can see on the picture. budget is around 100-150 euros (Netherlands). I've already been looking for the following ones: Mackie CR3 Creative Reference Monitorset, Fostex PM0.3D, Akai RPM3 and Thonet & Vander Kurbis.

I know Phillips makes some studio monitors that are around 150 USD each. The main problem that you will have with actual studio monitors is that they will generally be too big for the space you have available. Have you thought about wall mounting the speakers? Otherwise, the only monitor style speaker that I know of that would be small enough to fit on your desk would be the audioengine a2+. They sound quite good, especially for the size (I listened to a couple of masters through them at my local audio shop when I was deciding between the a5+ and the a2+. The reason I went for the bigger ones was that I am located in quite a large room, so I needed something that can fill a big room with sound.
