Corsair 200r vs Raidmax Viper GX II vs Viper GX, which one is the best? Need help.

lol1290

Hi everyone,

Im building a new pc and I am chossing cases. For a long time now, I was planning to go with corsair 200r, but then I saw Raidmax Viper GX II and Viper GX.

They both look BADASS compared to corsair 200r, but my main question is the performance (quality). The Viper GX in only 3€ more expensive than corsair 200r and the GX II is 10€ cheaper then 200r. (prices are from a German store (http://www.mindfactory.de)).

I've watched Linuses review of the corsair 200r and I think its a great case, but the Viper cases just look amazing, so I cant chosse between them.

So I have some questions (about Viper cases):

1. Do they both have good airflow?

2. Are they both enough big to fit all my parts in? (link down below)

3. Are they enough good quality?

4. Are they maybe even better then corsair 200r?

Oh, and you get external SSD connecting port (with Viper cases), but I'm not going to use it anyway...

My younger brother has the Corsair 200R, and I can tell you only this: It's like buying a wooden crate to put your misc items in. It does what it's supposed to do, and absolutely nothing more. It doesn't look particularly good, and it's rather small for a case of its category.

However, I'd choose it any day over the other two you listed. I may be a slight hypocrite, given I have a Phantom case, but I do not want my high-end PC hardware stored inside of what looks like a carrying case for my Hot Wheels. Maybe consider a third option entirely? If you're limited by budget, having a budget would be nice.

I really like the look of the Raidmax, but the 200r is probably far better functionally.

I can just imagine the amount of dust you'd end up with in the Viper GX...you can see the front intake gerddermnit.

Agree, a lot of reviews say that 200r is great.

Yeah. Just updated my post with a review of the 200R by Linus and one of the RaidMax by a channel I've never seen before.

Perhaps a Phantom 530?

So, its true that it kinda looks like a ''hot wheels'' box, but can you recommend me a better case then corsair 200r (if there is any), that is less than 60€ (from the site http://mindfactory.de)

Okay. Is there anything you're particularly looking for in a case, as well as fitting your build and budget?

Not really, I just want a good airflow and compatibility (+ at least 2 usb 3.0 in front of the case)

+support for ATX motherboard

+it has to be mid-tower

EDIT: and ofcourse that everything fitts in...

Now, I hope not to be back-handed by the community, but for under that budget, the 200R is your best bet. Except that, for  10 more, you can get this:

http://www.mindfactory.de/product_info.php/NZXT-Source-340-mit-Sichtfenster-Midi-Tower-ohne-Netzteil-weiss_981806.html

I think this is a much better deal.

I'd suggest the BitFenix Comrade but that only has 1 USB 3.0 port at the front (there's one 2.0 port too though).

For the picture, yes it is. I have the unedited photo somewhere. This was like more than a year ago.

Looking at them, they look great and they are even cheaper then 200r, but are they better?

SPEC-03 might be a choice as well.

I have my rig in a spec 03 and honestly my only complains are the lack of water cooling support and no CPU cable cutout. But for that price im pretty much gold anyways :)

(it looks sexy as heck you can check my profile for my rig pics)
