I have my first GCSE Exam on the 12th of May. This hell won't stop until the 19th of June. Any last minute tips for the exams?

Here are the subjects and the amount of papers i would have to sit for each:

French:2 (one Reading and One writing)

English: 2  (One Lit and one Language)

Science: 9: (3 for Bio, 3 for Chemistry and 3 for Physics)

Computing :1

History: 2

Further Maths: 2 (cant believe i decided to do GCSE maths a year early and get entered into this crap: Basically A-level in Year 11)

Religious Studies: 2 ( my fav subject and by far my easiest, just involves common sense, got 87% on mock exam with literally no revision)

So any last minute tips for the exams

Thanks

Revise over a long period of time, don't cram. Also, don't panic it'll make things worse.

Do lots of past papers, i got 8 A*s and 3 A's and hardly spent much time reading the textbooks. especially for maths to get A* do a lot of past papers

Is your gcse further maths AQA lvl2 btw? you can get higher than A* in that (A^ a star with distinction which wasnt actully that hard to get for most people in my school)

Keep your composure, don't panic, also get a good nights sleep. I learnt that the hard way, I think I had like 3 hrs sleep before 3 A-level exams, nearly missed them as I couldn't get up... GCSE's aren't too bad for the most part. Do lots of past papers and the questions just become really samey after a while.

Yep, further maths lvl 2. Well i dont feel like my teacher taught the course properly cos he did Additional Maths OCR (which most people failed the mock) so he skipped to further maths and just taught the new stuff that wasnt covered on additional maths

IDK why he teaches maths, he is a hardcore computer enthusiast who was around all the computer nerds at uni playing COD and watercooling his rigs. He knows the computing syllabus better than my computing teacher, so i think he should teach that instead

the further maths exam should be your last one, worry about it later on but make sure you do at least 5 or 6 past papers for it since matrices is usually the only topic that they dont seem to overcomplicate

True, sine and cosine are confusing and so is the proof questions

If you are doing OCR computing the exam is very predictable, and many of the questions are the same each year round

Grade boundaries are stupidly high

I think everyone in my class f-ed up as the teacher (the old man as i call him) tried to teach us 5 programming languages in less than 2 months cos he thinks he knows "20 languages", so we are all screwed for the coursework

the coursework was worth 60% so hope for the best lol,

dont get put down by the grade boundries because if the paper is hard they will drop significantly

My teacher started hating me after i overclocked one of the computers in the class (i5 3470  i think) and it thermal shutdown very soon while he was watching, we also moved some ram around and bought in a graphics card to try run crisis once lol. He doesnt seem as bad as yours though, he said he will let us run a LAN tournament for a few lessons after we come back from AS exams

The old man hardly knows anything about modern computers, he still uses an 8 year old computer lol with Ubuntu. All the school computers are trash, even though i am in one of the top 50 schools in the country.

My maths teacher loves LANs but he says that everyone plays on console so it is not a viable option as he has played on PC all his life, and only has a Wii at home for his wife and kid.

Just relax, it's just a test, if you start thinking "omg this is so big blah blah blah" you'll just start panicking , I have to do all of my core science (cus I have triple science) this year. Take it easy.

Welp, he's retarded. You only really need to know 1 programming language for your CS GCSEs.
