GPU changing Clock Speeds

Go to solution Solved by Majestic,

Yes,the ones on youtube had 1316,why is that?

1 boost higher, it boosts with steps of 13mhz. That means either the card is going over 70 deg, or it's hitting the TDP limit.

My GPU is a MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4g

My GPU shows 1304 mhz instead of earlier 1306 and mem clock shows 3506 instead of 3505.

Also that my GPU seems to have less core clock and mem clock speed than the others i saw on youtube(and yes they said they haven't oc'ed their cards.)

Please Help

TIA

GPUs change in clock speed depending on their temperatures and workloads.

If the card is running cool enough, and needs more horsepower it will OC slightly.

If the card is too hot, it will undervolt effectively underclocking to get lower temps slightly.

If the card is idle or not doing much then it will volt down to save on power.

that and every gpu is different. Some will get different OC and temps at those OC.

They could've bumped the power target or set the target to temps instead so the card wouldn't throttle. The ones on youtube likely had something like 1316 or 1329 right?

But what about the mem clock,it increased and the core clock decreased,i did reset before but it wasnt like this, but now it's diffrent.
