Is my speed ok?

I've been reading that a wired connection is *mostly* faster than a wireless connection. I have a wireless connection desktop and was wondering, should I buy a power-line networking adapter instead of using a wireless card? 

I ran Speedtest and got a 23 ms ping, 16.72 Mbps download and 4.51 Mbps upload. Are those good speeds?

well ping is irrelevant as speedtest auto picks the closest server to you with the best ping but your speeds overall are serviceable but far below what I would tolerate.

I reran it with a farther server (the one in Seattle, Washington) to simulate more realistic situations. Got a ping of 93.

Should I manually input a farther server?

If you know the location of the servers you play games on the most you can but it's largely irrelevant to test ping with a speed tester for that as a game will tell you what ping you're getting.

Well, would a power-line adapter be better? That is, for gaming?

That's a question for someone more experienced in the hardware side of networking. My setup enables me to know nothing about networking and I like it that way.

And what are you paying for? We can't tell you if your wireless is good if we don't know the base value.
