Hello everyone. I got bored and looked at my nexus 7 2013 under a derpy 10$ microscope. Much to my surprise, I found that the pixels are in a strange alternating slant pattern. I do have an aftermarket screen because my old one broke one day. The new screen is terrible BTW. Picture is ok, but touch is spotty at best. Paid 100$ to fix it myself. The screen res is 1920x1200. Sorry the clarity isnt great, but it still shows it pretty well. My phone wouldnt letmeadjustthe exposure, sso thats wy te picturssareunder ofoverexposed and I amdone correcting my crapy toucnscreen whentypinggoddammit

That's not unusual. There are a lot of different subpixel arrangements and shapes. It's probably to improve viewing angle or something.

or for china to make it cheaper. I shall look at my brothers new tablet with the OEM scfeen and see kf kt looks the same.

It's not some kind of defect, if that's what you think. It doesn't lower the cost of production either.

I just wonder if it was easier. Because the manufacturing process for this replacement is clearly different than OEM. the digitizer has a very large dot array (compared to the OEM) for sensing toucn and the dots are clearly visible while it is on. I think they couldnt make it as sensitive as the OEM screen so they made the dots bigger to compromise.

That's how LCDs work.

i know, but they are generally straight. Or in the case of OLED displays, they out them whereever the heck they want: http://i-cdn.phonearena.com/images/articles/58762-image/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-screen-comparison-under-microscope.jpg
