I am looking into building my first desktop. I will be starting completely from scratch as I have not had a desktop in fifteen years.

1. Budget & Location
Budget is not set yet, preferably under $2500 including peripherals and monitors. $USD

2. Aim
I will be using the system for photo editing and data analysis (financials, etc not crypto-currency) as well as general office applications. I would like to be able to play games like D3, COD, and similar as well as have the ability to get into video editing in the near future.

3. Monitors
I plan on using at least two monitors, possibly with a three monitor set up if it becomes needed.

4. Peripherals
I will need to purchase the peripherals including Windows..

5. Why are you upgrading?

I am entering grad school for data analytics and also continuing my photography. I want something that will get the job done well with some potential for growth. I am tired of being limited by my laptop and a 17" screen.

As I mentioned this is going to be a workhorse and nothing is finalized regarding budget. If I need to come up with more to get it done then I will figure it out. I would like to do some gaming, but reality is time will prevent a lot of it so I do not need the ultimate gaming pc. Much more interested in an ultimate editing and analysis machine.

I hope this makes sense. If not guide me please. I have never built one before and am wanting to learn the hardware side of it.

This is what I came up with. For the keyboard and mouse, its more of a personal choice. So I wouldn't know what you want. :P

Kinda just threw in the keyboard and mouse based off what I would go with. And with those prices I was able to get the one monitor in for now. But this build will last you a good amount of time.
