Do you have the skills and the access to the equipment you need?

I personally hate those roll out keyboard trays.  If you do away with that it would be o.k.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

my desk is like that and its 750mm deep , I find thats not enough. (looking at getting a 900mm L desk)

also on L desks if your putting in a corner its hard to have 3 monitors.

finally cable management - mines got none

Its all about those volumetric clouds

I would have 3 holes in the desk  and then have a channel running along the back underneath the desk, i would also look at mounting a power board on the back bracing so that you dont have a million cables on the floor (like it do :( )

  • 2 weeks later...

I had a similar situation; I needed a lot of desk space and needed something on the cheap. I ended up gluing and screwing two 3/4" sheets of plywood together, using the full 96" width of the plywood trimmed with depth down 12" to 36". I then covered the plywood with Arborite, although you could use any high pressure laminate or a vinyl wrap if you wanted. The 12" of plywood that I cut off of the depth of the desk I mounted as a panel on the underside of the desk to serve two purposes: a place to mount and secure hardware and cabling, as well as to hide the message of hardware and cabling. For legs/support, a visit to Ikea: The legs were $5 each, and then a grabbed a set of drawers. Ikea makes it easy as all of the legs/drawers/etc. are standard height.

There's also some nice cable management baskets that you can hang from the underside of your desk (available from Ikea). I couldn't imagine not using these now.
