fans are confusing

Go to solution Solved by blackadder,

so my case right now kind of forces me to have either extreme negative pressure or extreme positive pressure. two front intake 140mm fans (filtered so i want to keep them intake) top fans on the radiator half filtered 240mm rad. and one rear fan not filtered 140mm.

what i wanted to know was if i could have one fan as pull and one fan as push on my radiator or if that is a big no.

yes, you can or should if you have holds. temps don't normally decrease by much, just a few c.

I would probably just run without a rear exhaust fan. Have your 280mm filtered front intake and 240mm top exhaust. Unless you've got SUPER hot components, that would be more than enough, and is the best for dust purposes as you end up with a slightly positive pressure.

Having one push and one pull on the rad would no doubt work, but it would lead to a confusing airflow pattern...

Could you just not use 2 fans in and 2 out?

What you can do is, 2 front in, 1 rear in, and 2 top out.

Just let the 2 top fans be regulated by the cpu temp. And turn the other 3 as far down as you want. Positive pressure in the case during idle isn't a big issue, and it will keep dust out.

The positive pressure will get less when you are putting a load on it so the airflow will get automaticly better when it has to because the top fans suck out more air.

My desktop has the most retarded airflow pattern ever. The graphics cards spit air out of every side and recirculate it. The most air comes out the opposite side from the video ports
