How to get more PPD?

I have a GT 740M in my laptop with some i7. I get around 1676 PPD right now. How can optimize it to get more PPD?

24 fps for that "cinematic" feel


After a couple weeks of behavioral sciences at my school I can easily conclude my parents need to grow up.

*Which I hope would be obvious, given the sub-forum this is in. :P

Go into Advanced view and past a screen shot so we can see the config. Also, need to let things hit at least 10% complete to really see the proper PPD.

New problem altogether, I let CPU WUs run all night and after the first one it failed to get more. I restarted F@H a couple times and nothing but more fails. I am trying to get CPU WUs because my GPU WU take 8 days and my CPU WUs take 3 hours. Here is the log

Ok, first off, the error you were getting was the work server was empty. Nothing you can do about it. Just have to wait till they assign more more WU's to be given out.

 

Now, a couple of things in regards to Folding and laptops. First, for your GPU, let it hit 10% complete before you look at any numbers or stats. It won't have any good numbers until you get at least that much done. You will probably notice that 8 days to complete really shrink. Typically GPU WU's yield a lot more PPD than CPU WU's, regardless of the fact that the CPU are quicker. They still give less points per day overall.

 

 

Folding on laptop, be very weary of the heat. If you card/system is getting to hot, it might be downclocking and then you get some horrible performance. If it works ok, than fold away. For many folding on laptops with heat issues, I recommend the Chrome Client. Works really well on laptops, only folds on the CPU though. But you get much smaller WU's that you can crank through and on Low or Medium you still don' generate a lot of heat as compared to the full client.
