Safe temperatures Pentium 4 650 overclock

I am new to overclocking and I am starting out with an old Pentium 4. I bumped the frequency gradually from 3.4 to 3.9. Currently stress testing and so far the max temp is 68.5 C. Is it safe or should I dial it down? Also what could be considered the max temp considered safe?

For that processor, probably maximum you'd want to go, maybe dial down a little. Just don't get above 70C.

Pentium 4 was a bit before my time, but I assume 75c under stress test is as high as you want to go.

The max safe temp is 66c, soo...

I would either dial it down or change your cooling.

That's pretty hot. You should upgrade your cooling or bump it down.

its a prescott, i'll be ok upto 90c of benching. would try and keep it under 75c for normal use. i would be more worried about your motherboard than your cpu. :P
