Anyway, he is having a problem with installing windows, whenever he tries to use an installation disc with windows 7 he gets past loading files but freezes upon the Starting Windows screen and after a 6 hour wait he is certain it is a freeze. I recommended he tries booting from a USB drive and the issue he has with that is the laptop goes straight into BIOS, no other options just immediately into the BIOS. The USB is the first priority in the boot order.

I've tried alot of different ideas I've found while looking for an answer but none seem to help so here I am asking for any idea you have about what the issue might be, and remember this is a first time installation of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit , he isn't upgrading from windows xp or whatever.

Thank you in advance :)

this is what i would do

i would pull the 750gb drive out when installing windows onto the ssd.

and not put the 750gb back in till windows is up and running.. then shut system down and put 750gb back in

also make sure to delete any partition on the ssd  drive. before installing windows onto the ssd.

Thanks for the tip, Unfortunately he isn't confident enough to remove his HDD from the laptop plus if he does annoyingly it voids his warranty, and the SSD shouldn't have any partitions on it seeing as it's brand new, however I am still convincing him to try and remove them to check.

In his BOIS he need to change SATA Mode (or similar) from IDE to AHCI, otherwise he will be unable to boot into his SSD.

The hdd could be dead - I have personally had a windows installation freeze because there was a fault with the drive. Send the computer back for a replacement is what I would advise.

have you tried loading the fail safe setting in the bios.

one of the setting in the bois.  could be wrong. and that's why,  the system is booting to the bios

if you want to test the  ssd drive

you could make aboot  cd from

http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd. on a different system

then boot to the bootcd on your buddy's laptop. and run mini xp.

then run..intel's ssd toolbox. to test the ssd.

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18455

have the intel app downloaded onto a usb drive

you run the bootcd off of a usb drive to.. http://www.hiren.info/pages/bootcd-on-usb-disk
