New GPU for the Girlfriends PC

So my Girlfriend just built herself a new PC ( Very Proud of her )

 

Specs :

 

i7-4790 ( ordered i5 but got i7 ...... so yea )

Msi Z97 Krait ( she like the look of it )

8gb 1600mhz Crucial ballistix ram

EVGA 500w PSU 

 

She has a gtx660 in there atm from her old PC but i think soon she will want more GPU power now that her CPU wont bottleneck everything ( she had a q6600 before)

 

So with a budget of $200 US what gpu would you recommend ? i was thinking the Msi krait 960 it will match her mobo and perform better than her 660 

 

any other suggestions are welcome , got any ideas guys ?

Edit , she plays games like GTA 5 , BF4 and Borderlands etc  ( oh and 1080p )

I'd go for a 970, the EVGA ACX 2.0, ASUS Strix, and Gigabyte G1 Gaming are all great ones, then msi has some decent ones as well. (Imo the g1 gaming is the best of all the 970s)

The 960 does great in GTA 5 and other games at 1080p, at least that's what I've seen.

280x or GTX 960. Or save up a little more and grab a 970 on sale.

 

Would suggest an R9 290 but that's not ideal on a 500w PSU.

DON'T get a Maxwell card. Their price to performance ratio is far lower than an AMD card. You can get a 280 or MAYBE a 280X for under 200 dollars. They have more video RAM, and they will perform as good if not better than a 960.

Used GTX 770 4 Gb or GTX 960. Some people have only logged like a few months on their cards then they upgrade...pretty cool.
