So I now get this error. I was not getting this error before. Any suggestions? Crashes in-game when playing after about 5 to 15 minutes.

Most problems I've seen are for GTA Online.  I only ever get this error when playing GTAO.  40+ hours in single player and not a single error or crash.  10 hours in GTAO and at least 6 crashes so far.

For me, 50 hours without this crash now I start getting this crash for no reason. I guess it's when they updated the game.

Congratulations, you now have to lower your gpu clock to be able to play the game without crashing.

If you are going to contact R* I suggest you tell them you have this problem and that you have..

Installed latest windows updates.

installed latest drivers.

updated steam.

lowered your gpu clock.

lowered your gpu memory clock.

updated the game to the latest version.

I also told them in the first message that my specs are...

gtx 980

i5 4690k

asus z97-a motherboard

8gb ram

1tb hdd.

That is everything they can ask you to do pretty much...although I did this myself

I also told them in the first message that my specs are...

gtx 980

i5 4690k

asus z97-a motherboard

8gb ram

1tb hdd.

And there reply to me after telling them all this was.

have you updated steam if you are playing the the steam version?

have you updated the game to the latest version?

have you installed the latest windows updates?

have you installed the ltest drivers for your gpu?

make sure i meet the minimum requirements.

I replied yes...I already told you what I have done and give you my specs in the first message I sent you.

R* then replied with...........Oh wait, they didn't reply after that.

But yeah, lower your gpu clock and it should work, which is an absolute joke to be honest.

My 197+ overclock has been stable for 6 months in all kinds of games, now I can't even have a plus 5 overclock wen playing gta.

make sure i meet the minimum requirements.

Edit, evolve suffered with his exact same problem which was then fixed in a patch.

I see that you have got an GTX 770.

I've got a GTX 680, so very similar cards.

I got that screen as well after a cpl of days playing the game.

i found that turning V-Sync on the the graphic options helped for me.

Though now I can't get frame rates above 60fps. Seemed to be locked on the 60fps.

But now the game plays quite fine

This works? vsync on and you get no crashes? I may put my overclock back on an try this.

I think it kinda makes sense. You limit your fps, GPU doesn't work as hard, which results in more stability.

Great :) Glad to see it has worked.

There is also a choice of having "Half" V-Sync on.  Not sure what that means, & I haven't tried it yet.

Stupid works keeps getting in the way

Yep, weird.

Yeah, half Vsyn makes no sense ha ha ha...

Half Vsync limits the FPS to 30 instead of 60 if you have a 60hz monitor.
