The frankenstein SERVER build

Hello lady's  ;)  And gentelman  :)  This is my build log of the "Frankenstein" It is a mini itx atom server build in a old records box That i found in the Garage.

The server is made op of : atom dual core 330 cpu, 2GB ddr2 ram module, Unnamed mini itx power supply, Old records box!

I needed a fast and cheap case and this is what i made! it kinda looks cool i think, and i will try to get my webserver running on it as fast as possible!

Pretty neat! Although, I would never personally run an open PSU, just doesn't feel right..

Also, Atom seems pretty underpowered for most server uses. What server will you be running?

The Pi 2 model might be on par. 4 cores, similar speed (I think its 1.3Ghz?), 1GB RAM, etc. I think you should do a test between the two. $35 can't set you back too terribly far, can it? :P

Pretty cool, tbh. Do you have any vents cut in the side for airflow? I'm assuming that you don't have it closed while running?

No it' s not alot of money ;)  But however in my Country they are a little more expensive than 35 dollars :(  And ill need quite a few accessories it' s 900 mhz btw ;)  But it is arm wich basically makes it miles and miles slower than the atom ;)

No hehe :D  It' s opened By the cables coming out of it and believe me It' s quite alot of room for airflow so no problems there  :)

I may actually steal this idea, because my parents have some old vinyl record boxes sitting around. Maybe for a "LAN gamer".

Easily overclockable though! I know I pushed my B model from 700MHz to 1GHz with a small passive heatsink an slight overvolt. It's been a while though..

Yeah it will get to 1.1 or something they say but it just can' t get higher i think and even at that clock speed it' s way way slower than the atom ;)  :)

But it does use alot less power i think i may buy one some day.... Iam running a wordpress server tough so it can be a little hard on the pi :)
