Hi guys,

Just bought the huge arma 2 collection in the steam sale, among other things. I was just wondering along with dayz are there any other good mods to play or alternative servers. Iv'e heard there is some RPG style ones and bounty hunter style where someone has to travel un-detected? Anyway any suggestions and feedback is more than appreciated . Cheers guys!

DayZ is just a bad running simulator, it's all you do in it. Wasteland is a lot of fun though, especially with friends.

DayZ is actually a really great mod, It's not the perfect gamemode but I had a lot of fun with friends on that mod.

Well, opinions. I've had my moments with it, but at the end of the day, it's just a crappy mod pack which rocket put together which is why it is so buggy.

Try playing the core game. It's REALLY good.

The Wasteland mission (not really a mod) is pretty lame if you ask me. It's geared towards instant action COD kiddies who can't take 5 minutes to plan tactical gameplay. They need to run around with a pistol shooting everything that moves ASAP or else their mind explodes because the game is too complex. It's a jump in, instant action, never stop shooting mission with no rhyme, reason, or end goal. Wasteland is popular because it has that old familiar feeling of popular modern small map, death match, 360 no scope mind numbing games. It does however allows people to get used to the controls, vehicles, and how the game handles in a multiplayer situation without affecting everyone around you.

I'd suggest grabbing as many Arma titles as possible including Arma 3. You can COMBINE the games into one. Allowing you to play all previous arma content in Arma 3's engine. This includes Take On Helicopters which gives you a massive, scale map of Seattle.

Here's an old trailer for the All In Arma Mod.

I'd also recommend going to the official Bohemia Interactive forums for additional info, uploads, and news.
