Really odd problem

I know the title may seem kind of click-baity, but I really didn't know how to sum up the issue. So, I have this issue where sometimes if I turn on my monitor, the TV stops working. It (his TV) works on everything else (HDMI, VGA), but not on TV. We're both in the same room, but we're using outlets on either side of the room. It seems like a really bizarre issue, but it's getting kind of annoying, as it's at the point where only one of us can do something at the same time. Also, it happened once where I couldn't turn off any of my displays because the same thing kept happening.

 

I haven't tried anything so far, because I don't know what to do. Any ideas?

Possible that you have a HDMI cable plugged in so it is trying to switch to your screen when you turn the pc on? Second thing would be the circut is taking on too much and it is forced to shut on off

Your monitor could be sending a power ripple through the circuit, most TVs will shut off if they detect these ripples.
