HyperX Cloud 2 Gaming Headset Problems, Also Some Windows Update Stuff

Hey there! today i just got a brand new HyperX Cloud 2 Gaming headset but when i plug it into my PC it does not get recognized in the "Playback Device" Audo settings tab as you can see in the screenshot below... also saw that my windows update thing wants me to download new drivers for my old keyboard/mouse i dont have anymore and the same with the GPU. it wants me to download drivers for the AMD 7950 from XFX. even though i have the ASUS Strix GTX 970... so if you know how to fix any of these problems i would be very greatfull :) Also cannot update the drivers it just comes up with a error in windows update and still dont understand why i would ant my pld graphics card drivers when i got a new one..... Also cannot troubleshoot the proble :/

The ´Headset´ setting in the Playback Device menu is not linked to the headset you are using, but to the soundcard. So try enabling it, if you haven't already. If your HyperX Clouds are plugged into the same ports, as your old headset, it should work.

As for the Windows updates: Just right click the update, and select to hide the update. That way it won't bother you again.

And welcome to the forum.

Yeah i don't think the windows updates have anything to do with the headset issue. but the headset is plugged in to a "Premium USB Soundcard" that comes with the headset. but if i use the normal 3.5mm jack on the back of my PC i can only use either microphone or the headset itself and i need both for talking ingame aswell as hearing :)

And thanks :D

I didn't think the Windows updates had anything to do with the headset. i just assumed you  wanted a fix for the issue.

I didn't knwo that the HyperX Cloud II came with a USB soundcard, so my bad.

If the soundcard is the problem, than you can always go around it with a 4 pole splitter, but doing this kinda defeats the purpose of the Cloud II

To troubleshoot the issue with the USB soundcard.

Try checking if the soundcard might be disabled in Windows. Right click in Playback Device manager, and check ´Show disabled devices´.

It might shiow now.

Also, try plugging the USB soundcard into a USB 3.0 port if it's possible. USB 3.0 usually puts out a bit more power, so that should eliminate power as the issue.

And make sure the soundcard is plugged into one of the Intel or AMD USB ports and not a third-party chipset.

First, i would check if the headset supports ´Bass boost´. Just right click the head set in the Windows Playback device menu, and select ´Properties´. Under the ´Enhancements´ tab there might be a ´Bass boos´ option. I don't know if this is what you already did, but atleast I mentioned it

If the HyperX Clouds support APO, there is a system wide equalizer: http://sourceforge.net/projects/equalizerapo/

I would also recommend to install the peace GUI. It makes it a lot easier to use: http://sourceforge.net/projects/peace-equalizer-apo-extension/

If you have problems installing it, then WikiHow has a good guide: http://www.wikihow.com/Adjust-Bass-on-ComputerIt starts at Step 3.

There might be others, but I haven't tried any of them.

Yeah i've already checked the bass boost thing and it doesnt support it :/ and about the equalizer i read that you can get vacced on steam for using it as it thinks it a cheat. even though it might not be true i don't wanna risk trying it. i did install it and works fine but as i said, i don't wanna take that risk :)
