My GPU temps are pretty bad and I would like to lower them. For idle I get 50-55* C and on load 70-85 * C (thanks to MSI afterburner cause the card itself only made the fan go faster once it was at a high temp). On the picture that I included you can see that from the side panel there is a fan that helps cool the whole graphics card and on the right another fan that blows on top of the card (didn't make a HUGE difference) and a case exhaust fan at the back. Is there any way for me to get better GPU temps? I do have room for another case fan at the front of the case but it didn't make a difference at all when I tried it (normal fan not SP fan). Would another large fan placed at the bottom of the case (without access to fresh air) do anything? Should I change my fans to SP fans?

or

Do I just have to live with it?

Ideally you want good airflow so that your case can intake fresh air from the front/bottom and exaust the hot air through the rear/top of the case.  Good cable management can help with this.

here's an example:

Now your case probably isn't as open as mine but it should give you a good idea on what you need to do.  You may need to get a better case for better airflow.

I think you don't have a good airflow that pushes the warm air out of your case.

It looks more like hurrycane.

Can you give us a better picture with the side panel completly open from the side of the case?

I don't want to get a new case cause' I want to get a new computer in the near future cause this system is really old (dual core 3 Ghz cpu).

My PSU isn't even semi modular - I tried to stuff as much as I could in the back panel

Yes that is part of a plastic bottle around the CPU for better airflow (I mostly game so the CPU isn't used that much - I don't know the temps cause' it's a AMD)

So you can't buy a new case and then reuse it when you build a new pc later?

Anyways that fan you have inside your case pointed at you gpu isn't doing anything besides blowing hot air back at it. That funnel/bottle thing you have strapped to your cpu is probably blocking air flow, I'm guessing your using it to try and funnel air to your processor?  Have you tried just installing another fan in the 2nd slot on the side panel blowing at at the cpu?  Try to manage those cables better and have another fan in the bottom front of the case in-taking air (looks like theres a fan slot there?).  That's about all I suggest, this case is pretty terrible.

When I build a new computer I'm going to get a proper case (like a NZXT). I haven't tried to get another case fan for the CPU (my dad think's it's a waste and the cup mod is better). Yes there is a fan slot at the front but when I tried it with the fan I have now it didn't help with the temp ( SilentiumPC Zephyr 120 mm) and I would have to get a Corsair SP fan

Which fan do you think would be the best for the front intake?:

For idle I get 50-55* C and on load 70-85 * C

Those are almost literally perfect temps for a GPU.

My GTX 660ti and, now, GTX 970 both sat/sits on 75 degrees under full load. The 970 idles at about 60-65 (fan turns off for silence) and the 660ti idled about 45-50 degrees.

Your GPU is fine.

This is what I think of Pre-Ordering video games: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wp98SH3vW2Y

So I removed the plastic cup and took that small fan that was blowing on the GPU and mounted it so it uses the open slot (I will be replacing it for a fan that takes up all the space) and the idle temps got lower and under load it's now 80*C max

After seeing that picture, I think the problem is more your GPU cooler itself. It seems pretty small and because of the PSU sitting directly under that cooler pretty close to it, it doesn't get a lot of air.

Maybe try to use the lower fan spot of your side panel as an intake and the upper one as an outtake. Eventually the card will such fresh air in the hot air will get exhausted. But thats just theory.

Corsair PE's aren't worth getting and the NF-S12B is much better.

I'd suggest first changing the fans to 2 side intakes and 1 rear exhaust after removing the plastic bottle thing though.

Yea done that now. I think this is the best I'm going to get it...

Ryoku sorry for the odd request, but could you do me a small favour? You have a remarkably similar rig setup to me, and I thought I'd done a reasonably good job with the cable management, but your photo makes mine look like crap. Could you show me the reverse of the picture, of the motherboard tray and SSD mount areas etc. so I can get a better idea on how to manage my routing more cleanly?

I know that since I'm going to be using the bottom most hdd cage that it will end up a little different but for the life of me I cannot figure out how you got it looking so clear with the thickness of some of the cables. ( I've got the same case, PSU, looks like ram too, an M7G which for all intents and purposes will end up the same, and fan setup though I use F12s on the front panel to deal with the aforementioned cages).

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance
