Hi everyone, I was seriously considering the rog swift (I dont need IPS and in my country the acer xb270hu is heaps more expensive). However, reading through the reviews this monitor seems like a horror story. People are going through like 4 of these in one warranty, with reports of dead pixels, backlight bleed, vertical and horizontal lines appearing as well. What do you guys think? Would the build quality be any better in 2015? Has anyone here got one? Thanks guys.

I have an ROG Swift monitor. You have to understand its OC'ed monitor so it comes with the issues of OC'ing.

HOWEVER, keep in mind lots of people bought this monitor so you will see the people with issues being the most vocal.

My ROG Swift had an issue where it had grey horizontal lines flickering across the screen but they mysteriously disappeared. :D

I think if you bought one now you won't have an issue. I bought mine day one from Fry's. Im sure QA has increased since day one.

I got mine in 2014 and no problems what so ever. Just bought two Titan X's for it.

Thanks for replying! Would you recommend getting it, or given another chance would you get the xb270hu? Your title is a great oxymoron by the way! :D "amd and nvidia fanboy"

Ive had mine for a good few months (4 or 5) and have had not issues at all. Its by far the best monitor I have ever owned.

I would recommend it.

A lot of people including myself start seeing dead pixels, A few people I know in work thought they had perfect monitors and last week after I mentioned it to them *They bought theirs last year* noticed a few dead pixels.

I've had mine 12 days and I've already got 2 dead pixels, The problem is that Asus used a 120Hz panel and OC'd it to 144Hz which comes with a few issues.
