System specs?

Also what brand, certification and wattage is his psu?

Because it sounds like it's not delivering enough power, that's what I was having with a different build a while ago.

Just a guess of course.

CPU: i7-4770k (LM modded) - MB: GA-Z87X-UD3H - RAM: HyperX, 16GB 1866MHz - GPU: Palit GTX 980Ti Super - Storage: 1TB HDD + 500GB/120GB SSD (850 Evo/840) - Monitor: Predator XB271HU - PSU: 700W BeQuiet 80+ Gold

My friends PC suddenly restarts, it used to happen sometimes after an hour or two of gaming, but now it just happened three times in 30 minutes, while he was just using facebook. I am currently trying to check if it is his gpu.

Probably the power supply isn't delivering enough power, but if it isn't actually the power supply check the windows event log and see what errors show up.

EDIT: if the power supply is the problem the event viewer will only tell you that there was an unexpected shut down.

This is my opinion, it doesn't mean I'm right and is liable to change at any time. I may offend of which I apologize in advance.

How old is the PSU?

also to point out the G series from CoolerMaster is kinda like the CX from Corsair

poor parts used to make the PSU and high chance of failure

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

The PSU is about a year old, and i think it is the problem, but i am testing the 770 in another PC now.
