Ubuntu support?

Go to solution Solved by Darren,

I'd be legitimately concerned if either of those boards didn't run Ubuntu (so my answer is yes, they should run it fine).

Do either of these motherboards support Ubuntu? if they don't can someone suggest a inexpensive(less than or close to $50 USD) mATX Intel board that does?

Ubuntu has massive support for pretty much everything. (And you don't have to download the network drivers to a usb stick like on windows... that really annoys me lol)

It's hardware support is close to windows, it's not like OS X at all.

Stuff I have I like: Moto G - Superlux HD681 Evo - Monoprice 9927

90% of what I say is sarcasm.

Linux hardware support is some of the best around.

And that is because literally anyone can add support for it to a platform that is unsupported if they wish

This is the advantage of open source projects under the right license. Anyone can contribute changes, and everyone can read proposed patches and validate if they will be useful.

I've installed ubuntu on things as old as a server with 2 pentium 2 xeons to the latest hardware, and its booted and ran fine, be it a tad slow on the older machines, but it still did them proud.

Arch Linux on Samsung 840 EVO 120GB: Startup finished in 1.334s (kernel) + 224ms (userspace) = 1.559s | U mad windoze..?

I have also used various distros of Linux on Older boards up socket 1155 boards and had no real issues

Only reason I ask about 2011 boards i have seen some posts that people have had issues with new Bios that are on boards now

So before i made the plunge and buy hardware thought id ask
