Headset or Headphones/ModMic

Hello there,

I've just been wondering what to replace my siberia v2's with i've got a xonar d2/pm.
What would you people recommend for something not crazy expensive unless its worth it.

I've seen that ModMic and i wouldn't mind that with a pair of sweet headphones i do tend to lean toward sound quality over mic quality.

Audio Technica AD700 or Shure SRH440 or Sennheiser 380 Pro or ATH-M50 with a modmic.

If those headphones are expensive for you then you should probably buy a headset instead, i recommend the Steelseries 9H(not yet on the market but they have been anounced) or the ASUS Orion or the Razer Tiamat 2.2 or the Razer Charcarias.

well i havent heard alot about the sennheiser 380 pro but you can save 150 dollars on amazon

This is awesome thanks guys budget is roughly $200-$300 i pretty much said nothing crazy because i know there are $1000 headphones out there i'm tossing up between the ATH-M50 and the SRH440

If you have that sort of money what abouth the Audio Technica AD900X, much more suited to gaming than the M50 or the Shure 440. In fact there are loads of options. Do you prefer open or closed?

I would suggesting trying out some headphones before purchasing if you can. I have found some to not fit my fancy in comfort. I don't like my ears rubbing or being pressed against the inside cup mesh or liner. So that is a deal breaker for me. All headphones listed are good in sound quality.

Headphone and microphone choice is subjective but that is a good setup. You can always get a USB microphone instead as well, it really depends on your budget which you have yet to tell us.
