Hello everyone. This morning my system was working beautifully, and when Windows 8.1 Pro restarted to install some updates all hell broke loose. Upon reboot, my computer just hangs with everything running and no video displayed.

I have disassembled the entire computer down to the motherboard, one stick of ram, CPU and cooler, and power supply. I have also tried using both my GPU and the onboard graphics to determine whether or not I could get video output, but neither give me anything. The system isnt shutting off and coming back on.  It is just sitting on my Mobo box runnig with no video.

I have tried a few different sticks of ram, and the M.2 SSD that has the windows installation is not connected just to ensure the problem has not been caused by windows seeing as how it started durring a reboot.

Any suggestions? I am thinking it may be the PSU or the CPU.

Could be GPU drivers. Can you get into safe mode? Maybe try a System Restore before the updates?

The Probelm is im not even hitting post. When I short the power switch pins to boot the system up I dont get any video whatsoever. Not using my Gtx 750ti or the onboard graphics. Ive tried a different monitor, and still nothing. I took of my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, and cleaned off all the thermal paste. I re-seated the CPU, and removed the bracket on the back to ensure there was no bare metal allowing a short. I then, re-seated the CPU, re-applied thermal paste, and re-installed the CPU cooler. DIdn't do a damn thing. Still no video with either my GPU or onboard graphics.

Just as an update; Asus has agreed to RMA the motherboard. Thinking back, I lost my previous motherboard in this particular case. The standoffs are built into the tray and are dome-shaped things.  I think the case is causing a short, so I ordered another.
