I was wondering what everyones average GPU temperatures was? As after about 2 hours playing GTA V my temperature shoots up past 65c and have no idea if that`s a normal temperature or not? I have a GTX 980 SLI configuration so don`t know if that matters but at about 65c the fans start to get abit louder (1500rmp).

Wish I knew more about this stuff to know what`s normal and what`s not.

Don't worry about any PC component until it goes past 85c.

That depends on the chip.. some can go much higher.. some at 85 and you should be worried..

To the OP, does it suddenly shoot up after 2 hrs or are you only checking it at that time.. 65c is fine on a 980.. they will only start to throttle at IIRC 80c.. if they are too loud for you you can turn the fan profile down a little (making them a bit hotter but quieter) without issue

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P

No it doesn`t suddenly shoot up, just increases in time but I only noticed the temperature when I heard the fans get louder. I`m not all that bothered about the noise, my TV masks it anyway lol

I also have 980's in SLI (classifieds) and I am overlocked to 1506 core and 1900 memory on both. My fans go up a percent every time the temp goes up so if my GPU is at 55C the fan is at 55C. With GTA V maxed my temps sit around 65C just like you. My second card is the same temp because my ZxR sound card blocks the first fan completely.

Thanks for your help guys. It seems my GPU settles at around 74c when playing but does go down to about 67c depending what i'm doing and where I am ingame (GTA Online). When i'm in a game lobby the temperature seems to go up by several degrees, which doesn't make much sense to me since all the game(job) lobby is is a menu where you wait for players to join. But oh well 74c seems to be the average.

Thanks again!
