Hard Drive Issues

Alright so I have a whole bunch of IDE Hard Drives. When I got them they all worked. Now that I am trying to put them into my pc, only 4 were recognized and the rest are not even showing up in disk management. I am running windows xp on a dell dimension 4600 with a pentium 4 2.8ghz. Any Ideas? I have tried several different IDE cables and nothing changes.

No change after trying that. Update: The bios is saying the device is unrecognizable.
