The R9 290X is great unless you need to do triple 1440p then you might a R9 290X 8gb or one of the R9 300 series.

 

 

Well I have only one 1080p monitor, so I think it will be enough... Do u think, that the price of asus r9 290x will drop a lot until june? (cause if r9 300 series will be released and the same price, I would rather go with one of the 300 series)

You should get the 970. A 290X can be cool and quiet with a good cooler and an well ventilated case. However in an itx enclosure this is difficult. The card still dissipates the same amount of hot air into the case and is likely to just blow its own hot air over the cooler again eventually leading to high temps and loud operation.

Maybe your case would be fine, but AFAIK it is made for water cooling and not air.

So as much as I love the 290/290X.....a 970 is better in your case, pun intended.

Went for the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 970; so far, i'm in love. Yet to run any benchmarks or games as i'm still updating every and so on after a clean install!
