Used G3258!

Is it safe to buy a used G3258 that was overcooked to 4.2 in its life? Or should I spend more and go new since its cheap anyways.

lol 4.2 is barely touching what that chip can do. definitely not damaged. I'd actually be more likely to buy a chip if somebody said they overclocked  it high. my buddy's chip is safe at 4.7 with good voltages, and that was on the stock heatsink! mine only did 4.5

If it was that cheap I'd buy it just to delid it and kill it with 1.8v in suicide runs.

LOL yeah get it. as @Lays says, definitely do 1.8V suicide runs (or just use it)

I'd try to push it to 4.5 ghz

I am going to be using it with sli 660. Should be fine if I can get 4.5 out of it.(I know kill my budget)

I did. Its on ebay and I am now making someone pay 51 when I can go to my local micro center and get it new for 50 so yea boo.

Ive been debating on trying to find a used one and delidding it for bare-die mounts and 1.8v runs, but im so lazy and cbf :(
