Is the G1 gaming 970 overkill for 1080p gaming ?

Is the G1 gaming 970 overkill for 1080p gaming ?

Nothing short of multi-gpu setups/ titan x is really overkill of 1080p, with games like witcher 3, and gta where many of the bells and whistles will bring most gpus to their knees...
