I installed an 840 Evo and I use no software or anything included. I have friends that bought the fastest Intel ssd on the market using crazy technology that does stuff to boost this and that. But for everything I do, like boot time, is about a split second faster. When I play battlefield, my games load about 5 seconds faster (same server and playing at the same time)

Is all that turbo crap and rapid actually hindering performance? Is it just snake oil? Again I run my ssd barebones.

There are alot more things that can affect speeds. Where you route your cables can even greatly impact it.

Wait what?

If you know anything about electronics principles then you would understand.

Unless you're routing it through a solenoid or some shit, I really doubt that route your cable's take from your Mobo to your drive matters at all. What are these "electronic principles"

If he has more stuff on his drive (the fuller the drive the slower it works) and possibly more stuff loading on boot.. Also what drive has he got? Processor and memory speed can come into play as well.

If u have an 840 evo make sure u do the firmware update or else it will become VERY VERY VERY slow, but the update fixes the problem.

Yeah it will be like that for a few months then your IOPS will get fucked up and ur read and write will be under 150MBps. Samsung messed up and u can search this issue its well known.

Take my advice i have 2 of them, update them.

Yeah mine works fine for about 5 months, feel free to look at your iops and read write speeds right now, guaranteed they are lower. Samsung is not shipping 840 evos with update.

This!!! The magician software from Samsung will get you up and running. Version 4.6. But beware Samsung is limiting the number of download per day until the 27th of April I believe.
