AMD APU and dual graphics.

So, a build I'm doing(c'mon, IRS... I'm waiting...) is being built around the AMD A10-7850k. The trouble I'm having is finding any actual chart of which graphics cards work with it best.

Or is it still limited to R7 240 and 250?

Unapologetic AMD fangirl. Yes, I'm biased. Yes, I know sometimes nVidia and/or Intel is an equal or better option. Yes, I try to keep it in check.

I still like AMD more.

I think people pair a 260x-270x with apus but I am not sure with the whole apu scene/thing.

Then I would suggest 1866mhz or 2100mhz ram.

240 and 250 only. Really not worth it.

Depends on the user. My boyfriend will be getting this build. His primary games: League, hearthstone, old games, runescape... It could run fine without a discrete card.

Probably will have him save up for a better graphics card. Maybe a 270x+

I'm currently rocking the A10-6800k APU. I had the same questions awhile back too. But most of the answers I get are that APU's and cards aren't the greatest setup. APU's are generally towards budget gaming etc etc. But I think the 7850k should do just fine with the games that you just listed. I guess to make it short, its not worth to spend a lot of money around APU's :/ :/

still limited to the 240 and 250  - I would just save up and buy a 270x or better

If you havnt already bought the APU - there might be a better CPU, maybe even cheap enough so you can get a 270/270x

Getting a dedicated CPU and graphics card breaks the budget for this build.

Get a 860K and R9 270 or even R7 265 GPU instead...will destroy that APU with weak ass GPU all day.

what's the budget and location? do you need peripherals or OS or monitor included in that budget? i'm sure you can do better.

Pretty sure they'll run fine on the APU by itself. Intel HD makes short work of them, so the APU should be more than OK.

Dual graphics from what I've heard sounds like Crossfiring the absolute worst products AMD have to offer. It would be like SLI 710s or something if Nvidia did this, it doesn't seem like there's any particular point.

This'll be using the tv, and we have mouse, keyboard and controllers. We also have a spare license already.

The budget has a hard limit of $400USD, and I would rather keep it closer to 300.
