I like the first one...I think it has more character (more classy...if you know what I mean).

(I would still give both since it all comes down to personal preference)

The colored one is always better in these situations unless the couple specifically asked for a black and white.

The black and white just makes it look like an instagram photo IMO

Are you doing a book for them or just giving them the files?  If your doing a book then I like the black and white.  But I recognize that's a personal preference.

I just like black and white photos.

If your just giving them the files give both.  I always give a black and white and a color to the client.

Some times I use black and white because the lighting or shadows were just impossible to work with.  In that case I would omit the color photo.

But both look good here.

I don't think selective color is ever good.  Just my opinion but it never looks good.

yeah i have never really liked spot colour but it was just an idea

if you are giving files then just give them both versions, I mean you have made them anyway so :P its not like they will get a chance to have their photos re-shot

While normally a high contrast image like this would be a good black and white, this particular version is not great. The couple blends in with the background. I would try it with a different B&W conversion process.

The selective color really draws attention away from the couple. This is further reinforced by the blending I mentioned earlier (especially the bride's hair).

Just as a suggestion, I would try to reduce the contrast a little and then crop a little tighter (the groom's toes are cutoff).

Between the two I would say the B&W is the better developed image, but I would also say to play around with it some more, you might be able to make it better :)

Provide both to the couple if you are just giving the files. If you are putting one in a book/album, I like the color version. If you are making a print, I think the B&W would look good.
