So what...

Valid point I guess, lol.

Kinda figured OP was looking for something a bit more entertaining than enlightening though. :P

Well, I've read Ender's Game, Lord of the Rings, and.... Alice in Wonderland when I was little. Like all of those, thanks for the suggestions still :).

I might try the Maze Runner and I am looking into both the Phoenix and the Hyperion series. :)

so then how about Through the Looking-Glass

Anything that David & Leigh Eddings wrote.

Start here : http://www.amazon.com/Belgariad-Vol-Books-1-3-Magicians/dp/0345456327/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1429563528&sr=8-2&keywords=eddings

There's a lot of them.

If you like Warhammer 40k. The Horus Heresy.

Start here : http://www.amazon.com/Horus-Rising-Heresy-Dan-Abnett/dp/1849707448/ref=sr_1_4?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1429563898&sr=1-4&keywords=horus+heresy

I haven't read all of them because there are too many. The first 3 are the best though out of 10 or so that I did read.

If you like Star Wars. The Darth Bane Trilogy (3 books).

Start here : http://www.amazon.com/Path-Destruction-Star-Wars-Darth/dp/0345477375/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1429563843&sr=1-1&keywords=darth+bane

Otherwise if you like the learn the backstory of Star Wars after the birth of Leia and Luke before he learn he is force sensitive. When they are kids and they have to stay hidden from the empire.

the Dune Series (not the new ones written by his son) are awesome

anything written by Robert A Heinlein. a good first one from his is 'A Moon is a Harsh Mistress'

hearing the news that Sony has decided to resume talks about doing the Dark Tower series by Stephen king that should be on anyone's list. the dark tower crosses and mashes sooo many genre's but mainly sits in a sci-fi fantasy

and if you want discovery sword and laser is a good podcast by a noted tech reporter Tom Merrit (former Wan show guest)

No Place to Hide (by Glenn Greenwald), the book on Snowden.  This is one that should be mandatory reading for anyone even remotely interested in the internet.
