you could go as low as 500w , but 550w / 650w should be fine ( unless you upgrade the 970 to a 290x , then you would need ~550-600w )

Recommend what is best, not what you preffer.

Yeah ;

but his entire build is a bit over kill , you don't need a 120$ mobo or a 500gb SSD

BTW , PLEASE don't buy windows , go on reddit / teksyndicate forums and get it there for 1/5 of the price ( and these are legal )

That PSU should be fine. Like what others have said, you can go to 500W if you wanted. I believe XFX makes good power supplies too, so you're set.

What I'd think about changing are: Motherboard and RAM. That motherboard is fine, but I've heard better things about other ones at around the same price (ex: Asus Z97-A, MSI Gaming 5, etc). Unless you plan on upgrading the system to it's maximum, 32GB, you'll be better off getting a dual channel, 2x4GB set. Also, of course, if you're just gaming, go with an i5 4690k instead.

whats the point of having a ssd and a hdd? should i just get a 1tb ssd instead of 2 separate storage units?

SSD for OS and all small applications, HDD for those 60GB games, or just as a place before deleting
