gs70 laptop question (cpu)

givingtnt
Go to solution Solved by Sheldon_King,

so there are 2 of the same exact laptop. but one small 200$ difference. the cheaper is a 4710MQ and the 200$ extra one is a 4710HQ

is there really a difference ? is it worth it ?

Get the cheaper one. The MQ is the socketed version of the processor. The HQ is soldered to the motherboard.  (with laptops, it will not make a difference usually, as upgrades are too expensive to be worth the price (until far after it is worth upgrading), but the socketed is cheaper).

Remove it, yes. But the only reason to do so would be to upgrade it, but the need for upgrade (cpu wise) will be years in the future (look at it like this, even the Q840qm is still more than 99% of laptop users need, and it is 4-5 years old now).
