plug and prey is more accurate. depends on the motherboard chipset you are replacing it with, its a 50/50 chance it will boot up with out a bluescreen, and you not having re-install windows.

Windows 8 will b fine windows 7 is a shot in the dark

Chip set is the same, just upgrading an ASUS motherboard to a higher-end motherboard by ASUS.  Same CPU.

It would be probably fine. You might have to re install your network and sound drivers if the new board has different sound and network hardware than the old one.

Plug and prey is a nice term for this yeah. I think there's a pretty good chance of it all working out nicely, however you may very well have to reinstall a couple of drivers etc. It may also end up screwing you over badly but I find that very unlikely seeing as you're sticking to same chipset etc etc.
