RAM usage?

I feel like too much of my ram is being used; while idle with no programs running, my ram usage is 2.5 GB. I feel like that is too much being used. Could some of it be dedicated to a certain program? It is set a regular speed.

Maybe a screen shot of task manager?  (set most ram order)

Also, GTA V uses 97% of RAM so just throwing that out there.

sounds about right to me. GTA 5 uses 10g of system memory for me

Insane! So much for 8 gigs being "enough."

What resolution? I wonder if that has any influence at all.

I was playing at 5760x1080, everything to the max, but have msaa off. I don't know what a single 1080 screen would be...

restart you PC

and then power up task manager and see the idle RAM usage

then fire up GTA5 and look again

Thats pretty normal "idle" usage on Win7. I use atm about same with Firefox (7 tabs), VLC, Thunderbord and Opera runnng. Plus several bg processes. Just flash makes ram go bye-bye.

@LordMustangGTGta V just eats ram im on a 1080p setup and I have seen up to 11.6 Gigs of my 16 being used while playing. Im 90% sure its a memory leak. There is something they are not de-allocating.

@thewafflemaster Thats about right honestly, with more ram the idle usage goes up. I don't know why though.

Windows 7 uses 1.5-2GB at least for me.

Windows 8 and 10 dont need that much as i heard.

So yes it could be your OS but also some essential software for your hardware. Dont worry its all okay.

PS. 1080p GTA V + Chrome (fb, twitch, couple tabs, adventure capitalist web-browser game) eat 7.5GB of my 8GB total RAM.

Insane, im starting to think about getting another 4gb stick.

At my res, it uses 10-12g all the time aswell
