would i need a kill coil/additive?

Hey forum, I'm going to be filling my loop soon and i'm using distilled water so i was wondering, since silver is a natural biocide an my compression fittings are silver plated (bitspower true silver fittings) do i need a kill coil or additive since my fittings kind of are a kill coil?

It really depends because what you have might not be enough

My loop has 10 silver fittings in it total cooling cpu and gpu and 2 2x120mm rads. I think i'll get a kill coil just to be safe

all you need is one silver (99% fine) fitting to do the job. so no other agent or biocide

is necessary.

Thanks a lot. I was doing some more reading about this and found that ppl were saying that the plating on the bitspower fittings wares off and the bras underneath begins to oxidize. Do you have any experience with these fittings?

that'd be for the coated fittings (black sparkle, matte black, shiny silver, blood red,

and white) i don't think bits makes a 99% silver comp fitting (might be wrong) but

it won't be the same price point as the other fittings, it'd be noticeably higher.

i do know that bits has a 99% barb fitting..

you have shiny silver..  which are not genuine silver, just a plating (which will

need a biocide or silver kill coil). silver fittings are usually bright and not

reflective or polished.
