Posted April 18, 2015 Hello everyone. I need advice about OCing my i7-2600k with H100i cooler installed on it. I overclocked it to 4.0GHz and my temperatures under prime95 smallFFT were 80-85 with fans configured as push. Here are screenshots of my bios settings: http://i.imgur.com/tTKN1tU.png http://i.imgur.com/m8wHJrC.png http://i.imgur.com/RAHxnpL.png http://i.imgur.com/Iyznmh7.png Yesterday I cleaned my PC from dust after not opening it for a year, applied fresh MX-2 thermal paste using grain of pea method and I remembered Linus's video about push/pull config and how he's saying it doesn't really matter how we do it but pull accomodates less dust. So without further ado I swapped corsair fans to the other side (to pull) and the temperature results are "sligtly"... worse. I reduced CPU offset voltage to +0.005 and this is the result: http://i.imgur.com/JxaeYBY.png http://i.imgur.com/vkQBP6M.jpg (after few more minutes) Still not very good. Can you please give me some advice? Maybe I have done something wrong! Also is the fan from the pump set to 100%/full speed. in the BIOS? that's usually cpu fan
 Posted April 18, 2015 -snip- Those temps are insanely high for only ~1.25v. I have a 2550k @ 1.385v and I have a hard time getting it up to 75C. As @lani100 mentioned, it may be due to the obligatory H100i mounting issues. Posted April 18, 2015 Yeah there is no question about it that the H100i is not making proper contact (I barely hit 80C with my 2600k @ 5.0GHz @ 1.45v with an original H100 and that was in Intel Burn Test.): Here's a few links that will explain what to do: http://www.overclock.net/t/1482988/should-i-really-add-extra-washers-to-the-corsair-h100i-back-plate-to-make-it-fit-more-snug http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showpost.php?p=623994&postcount=3 http://forum.corsair.com/forums/showpost.php?p=751632&postcount=69 https://linustechtips.com/topic/1381504-community-standards/
 Posted April 19, 2015 Author Thank you all for your advices. I did not know about these H100i contact issues and I didn't even think of that. Also is the fan from the pump set to 100%/full speed. in the BIOS? that's usually cpu fan 1 I have my fans set in bios like this: http://i.imgur.com/Iyznmh7.png I wanted them to be as quiet as possible when I'm only browsing internet or playing not demanding games. I don't mind them ramping up when I have Crysis/GTA/BF up because then I'm using a headset anyway... but was I wrong? The CPU fan setting changes not only fan speed but also pump speed? I disabled Q-Fan control so they run at full, but it didn't really change much My temps still stay at ~85*C http://i.imgur.com/VIYplBl.png http://i.imgur.com/0hQPe7B.png Also - is Corsair Link so buggy for me on windows 8.1? On Win 7 it was working fine but after upgrading, it didn't let me even change the light of the pump until I found tutorial how to fix in in the registry. I'm using latest 2.7.5361 version and it doesn't show all temps and some of them are appearing/flashing red repeatedly http://i.imgur.com/PUGwI4d.jpg
