As the title suggests, I need help. Can anyone offer help/advice or point me in the right direction?

 

I have an issue with the top layer of my 3D printer.

 

The first layer of the top final layers does this

I am using adequate airflow onto the print

And this problem started when I converted my printer from a direct drive to a bowden.

I may have solved this issue by increasing the layer thickness from 1.0 to 1.6mm, but what I'm asking is, what could be causing this?

 

Note: The manufacture has got the calibration wrong with the thermistors, so the heatbed, and both extruders are seen as high temps. I'm using 215.C (about170.C on the nozzel) and 90.C (about 55.C) on the heatbed.

Couple questions, what material are you using? Is your hot end clogged? I had a very similar situation with my ultiamaker in the very first few prints where it was under extruding like that. Mine never made it to the top of the part, but it still happened. I found that raising the temperature from 210C to 220C got it working beautifully. Try raising your nozzle temps a bit and printing a calibration cube. If that doesn't work, remove your filament, blast the heat on the nozzle and let it sit for a bit to let anything that could be clogging it ooze out. You should probably get that thermistor calibration worked out though, must be confusing as hell to anyone else trying to use that machine  :D. Good luck!
