GTA V - Nv Surround support

Sorry for making a new GTA V thread, but I have not seen much info on this particular subject at all.

I'm considering buying GTA V today, but I play games using NV surround with portrait monitors. Some games that have NV surround support don't work well with NV surround with portrait monitors unfortunately (bf4 comes to mind with messed up menus)

Does anybody have any information about running GTA V at 3290 x 1920?

I know I will be lowering settings for 60 fps--I do that for most games anyways.

Also, where should I buy the game? I am thinking Steam. I live in the US and have fast internet so digital download is preferable.

You might hit that not-very-sweet spot on your 970 if you max the settings.

It claims to support it but I havent seen anyone who uses it yet.

I have a surround setup, but I don't have GTA V PC yet. Also, I wouldn't recommend surround portrait like that. I did it for a while but I found that 5760x1080 was a lot better most of the time, because fullscreening windows is terrible like that.

 

I think that GTA V will work well with surround, but only super wide and not like how you're suggesting.

I vastly prefer portrait surround, I guess I'm odd haha.

I do a lot of spreadsheet work and typing for my classes, and it helps a lot with that. Plus they are debezeled and velcroed to the wall, and I don't want to take them off...

Yeahhhhh the 970 can't max settings on really any games at this resolution. I lower settings to play, but I find the huge picture and awesome resolution to be worth the lower settings

Yeah, I think even 4 Gb is not sufficient for that res, and I really hope next gen GPUs will be 4/6/8 Gb with top models being 12-16. (I mean we have Titan X now but it's more of an exception atm).

If I have to turn the resolution down it's fine, I really just want to see if GTA behaves with portrait surround. Everything except the menus in bf4 works just fine (and with high/medium settings I get 90+fps with no AA)
