Thoughts on my build

m1cr0l

Hey fellow people!

I am looking towards building my first gaming pc and trying to get a value build. What do you guys think of my builds? Which one is better?

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Fd3KRB

OR

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3dMCVn

Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated :) THANKS!

Both builds are good, its more of a question on CPU and GPU. If its gaming you want then go with the i5 4460/4690k, but with GPU its a lot more debatable. The 280/280x is a card that outperforms the 960 by not that much but still does and is at roughy the same price. The 960 though has better power consumption, better driver updates.

Hope this helps

Been playing on a laptop for 6 years, I play Dota 2 with 10fps. Some might say this is impossible, I say its just annoying

The second one is better (the one with the i5).

But 280x vs 960 go with whoever is cheaper.

No, one thing you should NEVER cheap out on when building a PC is the PSU. If the PSU dies it could take other parts with it. That 500W PSU is great for what you're doing . If you want you could get the sweet-spot 600W

Lel, i asked about the GPU, not PSU. Anyway will there be a need for an additional fan in the case?

Sorry ;) The 280X is what you should go for if you want to play BF4 at 60fps, and no you dont need aftermarket cooling unless you're over-clocking or care about it looking badass

DONT GET A GTX 960 GET A Sapphire radeon r9 270x it has 4GB of data on it and it can run watchdogs.

OFF TOPIC: I suggest every poll from now on to have "**CK EA" option instead of "Other"

Well, yes.

But if you can can get an i5 you should do get it.

I5s are better than the fx 6300 in most games only downside is that it costs more.
